Anyone know the effects of race pack changes on current games... As
quite a few ships may be changed here and there in an <un>certain
amount of time; how might this affect in-game ships...
For example if small weapon mounts were lowered by 4 would in game
ships lose the functionality of their last 4 weapon slots? Or if ship
hulls are dropped from the race, will they disappear in the updated
games? I imagine that the hulls could still stick around, they just
won't be native hulls for the Peeps to build??? Just a thought or two
as I'm wondering if making alot of changes, such as what'll happen w/
the peeps, will create any major bugs or issues with current games...
Any thoughts, theories, or problems anyone might foresee?

The ships will still have to exist in a ship pack somewhere.
Otherwise, depending on how the code works, they may simply be deleted
or cause Client or Host crashes.
Is there currently a generic pack, containing the Deep Space Freighters
and other generic ships? At one time, they existed in the Fed pack and
the other races referred to that pack, but I think that was changed. I
think those ships now exist in a group somewhere outside a normal ship
pack, and ship packs containing them refer to that location.
So, all ships that are being deleted need to be moved to this "generic"
space, which will make them not a part of the Peep list, but still
giving them a place so that existing games don't have issues.
