a) there is no MAME32, there is only MAMEUI
b) rom sets change from version to version, you have to update them
c) MAMEUI only lists sets as available if they are correct and complete
(so, if you want a clone to be listed when split-merged, you need the
parent as well. Similar for sets with bios and chd usage)

f) for favorites you can simply edit favorites.ini in the folders folder
