'Disposition' - a game for one.
-------------------------------

Shuffle an ordinary pack of playing cards. Only suits count in this
game. The object is to maximise your final score.

Procedure: deal four cards in a row. Choose one and turn it upside
down. Deal another card on each of the three face-up cards. Choose
one and turn it upside down. Deal two more on top of the face-up
cards, and turn one upside down. Deal another on the last face-up
card. Now turn all cards face up and score as follows:

Heaps count as 4,3,2 and 1 from left to right. Suits count as spades =
4, hearts = 3, clubs = 2, diamonds = 1.

Multiply the heap value by the suit value for each heap, and add them
up. This is your score (maximum 40).

Of course the idea is to get as many spades as possible, but the
question is whether to take e.g. a heart in heap 1 or hope for better.

It's not as good as the Oblivion disposition mini-game, because
preferably you should get one of each suit in each round, and that's
hard to arrange.

I have speechcraft as major skill, and 70-80 personality. I'm stuck at
around 40 speechcraft, because everybody has maxed disposition the
first time I meet them, so I can't even trigger the game anymore. The
only "way around" to do it would be to talk to a vendor and try to sell
for outrageous prices repeatedly until the disposition falls down the
drain, enough for the minigame to start.

I can't be arsed now.

Can't be arsed to do that myself, either. Unfortunately there aren't any
mods that would fix this aspect. I've been using autotry when I have lockpicks,
and if I don't have any, I won't bother with the locks. If it is a quest related
lock, then open console, write player.additem 0000000a 50 to fix the problem Smile

(or just click on the item and type unlock...)

I dunno about mods, but there is an artifact in the game you can earn
called the Skeleton Key. Basically an unbreakable lockpick with a +40
Security enhancement. Takes a lot of the pain of lockpicking out of
the way.

You need to cheat if you want it before level 10 - the shrine won't give
you the quest before then.
