Disease, jungle remedy and BC

Last night I got hit by a 30 min disease in Shadowmoon Valley. Woohoo...
Finally I could use one of my stacked jungle remedies I grinded in
Stranglethorn Vale. All I got was a lousy t-shirt. It wouldn't cure me.

Is jungle remedy useless in BC?

It appears to have trouble removing diseases of lvl 55+.
Restorative potion or Purification potion are alchemy
pots that should work better, but I'm not sure at what
levels. There are also quests for both sides in Blade's
Edge Mountains that will get you 5 BOP Drake Essence that
cures disease, but it appears to be nonrepeatable.
