Hi All,

I am thinking about picking up an 'almost working' Sega Pro Monaco
GP upright. It's a discrete logic game that does not use a CPU.. I
think it only uses proms and TTL chips. Does anybody know of a
place/person that works on these things?

BTW: Is it a fun game to play? I haven't had a chance to play one
before.

Thanks, Ryan

It's a fun game - Think of it as an over-head Turbo.

The bigger question is - are all your other games currently working?
If so, you NEED this one! You don't actually PLAY the games, do you?!?
Wink

Enjoy and let us know how it goes.

you take a known good IC, stick it in one slot... then take the IC clip on
the other and clip it onto the chip under test... the comparator will let
you know if any aren't working correctly. (little red led)

The last thing I worry about in a classic game is if it works. There is
always some one out there that can repair it.

Its the cabinet condition and artwork quality thats important.

I paid $35 for mine brand new never opened. Definitely a 'must-have' if
you work on those monster state machine boards.

look for HP10529A on eBay, spend max $55 or so on one because they are a
regularly listed item, be sure the one you get has the little PCB with the
ZIF socket on it so you dont have to solder up a mess of cards.
Once you get it, the learning curve is all of 20 minutes, and its a great
timesaver

I just found out that it runs except for some sound glitches. Should
take delivery tomorrow afternoon. Sweet! Hopefully it will be a
little more popular at parties than my Pole Position but I am not going
to hold my breath. Smile
