In 1997 a Beta version of the Tomb Raider Demo appeared on the Internet
- originally, as I recall, on a German University server. Does anyone
remember this? And would anyone happen to have a copy of it?

I still happen to have a copy of the TR2 demo, the gold demo as well. I
can't say if it's the version you are looking for though. I'll post it over
on a.b.l.c, and you can grab it and check it ou.

Sorry if this wasn't the version you were looking for. Wasn't sure which one
I had.

Afraid that wasn't the one. But thanks for helping Smile.

The file was about 6-7MB. It had three levels - whereas the other demos
only featured one - to wit: Tibet, Venice and Titanic.

You're welcome. I hope someone has it, as I myself would like a copy of this
version. A Titanic level? Sounds pretty interesting!

The "titanic" level is the room in Wreck of the Maria Doria towards the
end of the level with the steering wheel hanging from the ceiling. Lara
also wears a black suit instead of her "Solar" suit.

I don't have the demo, but I'm also looking for it.

No, the demo were talking about was a leaked beta that had Venice,
Maria Doria, and Tibet. It wasn't the first three levels of the
released version.

If you are looking for a 3 level version (demo /not demo) of TR2, you might
want to look for one of the economy versions of TR, most came out in a disk
size cardboard sleeve, priced at $5-$9, and if you look in the fine print on
the back, it usually says first three levels of TR. I think these were
available for TR2 and TR3, tyr any store that sells games, like Target or
Office Depot, I seem to remember seeing them available there. As for a
Demo, I do not believe there was a 3 level demo, what you probably saw was a
cracked (so it could be coppie as a binary file, or disk image) version of
the cheap TR I mentioned above. I've been know to be wrong tho. ^_^;

I understand, but rey checking for them, it might be a mix of 3 different
levels, rather than just the first 3 as I thought. Can't hurt to look. ^_^
