Ok, enough complaining. Yes, the controls are different,
but after you get used to them, it's no worse than any
other Tomb Raider. Just really _different_from_every_
other_Tomb_Raider! After lots of frustration, and cursing
because of no help file introducing the new controls, I'm
starting to like the new way... except for it requiring the
mouse ... but sometimes that works better than arrow keys
because there's more control.
So has anyone made it through the demo yet???
I'm in the big room with the 3 floor buttons, 2 rotating disks
with 4 spokes, some chains, and that square gold thing that bangs
up and down when Lara steps on its switch.
And I'm stuck. It seems that Lara is supposed to move the
box, maybe to jump up to climb on the thing in the far
left corner. I got her to move the box, but she won't
grab on when she jumps up.
Apparently, I'm missing something... help?

Lara needs to get the two boxes from the lower level to
the higher level. >> Stay informed about: Tomb Raider Demo - Let's Play! |

I reckon this is spot on.

My suggestion, without giving it away, is think about the physics...you have
that stone thing in the water...and boxes...and fixes...and Lara is a pretty
hefty girl, really...so you have to obviously get the three boxes out of the
water and back up onto the ledge... >> Stay informed about: Tomb Raider Demo - Let's Play! |

After I figured it out, I realized that when Lara enters
that room, she is given a hint to look through her high-
tech binoculars, which happens to be extremely helpful.
Thing is, I didn't do that right away, and explored around
a little. Then I forgot about the hint and wasn't clued-in.
Since the demo won't allow saving games, I couldn't re-enter
the room to get the hint again, so I was lost.
Having failed that, I also neglected to try to move the
other box. Now that was really dumb.
