Take what you can get. Look at it in the long run, you'll save more
by using Darnassus for repairs, training, and reagent purchases. Get
it to exalted to save even more.

Outland factions aren't much better. I am exalted with a few factions
I have no real use for. Sha'tar I only needed revered with, but
eventually got exalted due to the popularity of heroic mech runs.
Sporeggar I didn't need any rep for, the only item they had that I
wanted was a quest reward. Consortium had a bag pattern at either
honored or revered, but I took it all the way to exalted for the
monthly gem rewards. Ogrila and Skyguard sit in the same boat
together, neither has anything I want. Lower City had 1 item I
wanted, the key for heroic Auchindoun dungeons, which was easy enough
to get once the rep requirement was lowered to honored. Maghar have
nothing I want either, I think the tabulk mounts are ugly. Keepers of
Time I was only after for the caster sword, which I got at revered and
haven't really gone back since.

Netherwing was worth the grind, although everyone seems to have a
netherdrake. The gold from doing the grind made up nicely for the
5000g I plunked down for 300 flying training though. Cenarion
Expedition had a ring at exalted, which was nice. I had also planned
on purchasing the 2000g flying mount from CE, as it was so rare that I
hardly ever saw anyone with it. But before I could buy it, it became
popular. I'll probably still buy it, as next to the phoenix, its the
least seen flying mount on my server. Scryer had the good shoulder
enchants at exalted, and the spellthread tailoring pattern. And
Shattered Sun had the good neck item at exalted.

That leaves poor old Thrallmar. I'm within 3-4000 points of exalted
with Thrallmar. At one time, I planned to get exalted with them for
the caster sword. But then 2.4 came along with its new badge vendor
and a much better caster dagger. I'm still working on the badges I
need for that, but because of that I don't want the sword anymore, so
I don't need exalted with Thrallmar, but I am so close that I can
taste it. Might try running heroic Ramps and BF for the badges, but
its going to really depend on what the daily heroic is.

I believe that it's 5% for friendly, 10% for honored, 15% revered and 20%
exalted.

It was different before, a long time ago, you would get 10% if you had some
PVP rank, and 10% if you were honored or revered, don't remember which one.

Then, the 10% of pvp rank disappeard whith the pvp rank, before BC. And
after some patch, they introduced this new discounts.
