Well, most of the M:tAc rotes from the proper Traditions can be
backwards adapted for DA:M... Verbena, OoH, Dreamspeakers, ect...
there's a lot to pull from for those traditions alone.

Well, a big part of DA:M is that although you have a wide berth of
ability at any given Pillar level... different Fellowships can not
always accomplish the same tasks. A Batini will never raise the dead,
and a Hermetic may deal with demons, but won't summon naturae like a
Spirittalker would, and vice-versa.

There is the DA:M Grimore, also, which I forgot to mention. It's kind
of hard to find these days, but I tracked down my copy on eBay awhile
back.

DA:Fey also gives some ideas for spells, since it works off of the
classical elements represented as seasons... ties very well with the
Verbenna precursors.

Hi there,

Can you give me some more information on the DA:M Grimoire? I'm keen
to get it, but the blurb on White Wolf's website is not sufficient to
tempt me. Does it have more on rotes, more on the magic system, etc.

We want to know if you can have more than a single buff spell (like
pluses in Strength) cast upon yourself, not the same stat, but multiple
stats.

Thanks for the information!

If you want to get it or not, is up to you. It's a resouce book, and
the sole one for DA:M.

If you allow large numbers of consecutive stat boosts, you deserve the
lameness that will develop. In M:tAw, they have severely limited this
scaling process in two manners. First is that you have to be Disciple
(R3) level in either Life (for Physical Attributes) or Mind (for Mental
and Social Attributes) to gain any sort of bonus at all. This bonus is
further limited by your current Rank in that Arcana. At Adept (R4)
level, you can cast a single spell that can add successes to multiple
attributes, which helps with the second limitation, Spell Tollerance.
Spell Tollerance begins to apply penalties to spellcasting once the
number of spells on your character (both benign and malign) exceeds
your Stamina.

What this means, is that players must choose between common spells,
such as Sight, Shielding, and buff spells, because trying to carry
large numbers of them all around with you just makes it nearly
impossible to use magic, which incidentaly solves your multple-buff
dilemma.

If I were you, I'd be using these new rules, even in DA:M. Makes life
more challenging. And more stable.

OK, I have orderd DA:M GRimoire and also the M:tAw book as well. I
think a good house rule would be no more spells (of any kind) can be
stacked on a character than his Foundation rating. So Faoundation 3
means no more than 3 spells can be stacked, and you cannot stack the
same buff spells either.

Thanks for your time and help.

What I'd say is this:

While it's fairly safe to increase a single stat with someone, it does push
the body beyond it's natural limitations. The stresses on body and mind will
begin to take their toll, causing a number of potentially nasty side effects
ranging from exhaustion, to nightmares, to a drunken stupor afterward.
