DS, WII - Internet required?

I've never connected either of mine to the internet and when updates are
required, they come with the game and are done for you. If I remember
correctly, they ask you first if you want it done.

I don't have broadband (and so cannot connect the Wii to the
internet), but I have had two firmware updates so far on game disks.
One was on the Super Paper Mario disc, and the second was on my Puzzle
Quest disc. I would assume that most games will have the most recent
updates on them, if they are necessary for the game to work. I would
guess that most Nintendo games will have the updates that are not
needed for the individual title to work.
