Hi Patrick Lam,
What was considered state of the art resolution back in the early
90's when those games were made was 640x480 mode in 256
colors supported by VESA compatible SVGA cards and monitors.

| Hi all,
|
| This must be a very old question, but is useful for my research. Why did
| DOS games prefer 640*480 resolution, regardless how powerful the monitor
| and/or graphics card were?
|
| Was this a DOS limitation? Or was it simply because 640*480 gave better
| performance?
|
| Any pointer will be very much appreciated.
