DMC4 for Xbox 360 outsells PS3 in UK

It may have been an exclsuive, but the sales difference isn't all that. The
360 version sold more than the PS3 version by just under 5K in Europe.
Consider that the 360 has about a 1.5m lead in install base there also.

Here's food for thought; When Assassin's Creed came out in Europe, the 360
version sold over14K more than the PS3 version did in its first week. In
Europe now, AS has sold about 158K more on the PS3 than the 360. Throw in
the fact that the install base of the 360, at the time of the AS release was
over 2m more than the PS3 then as compared to now at 1.5m.

I would think the quality of games available makes a difference.I have
Assassins Creed and Orange Box sitting unopened, waiting on me to finish
COD4, Call of Juarez, Tomb Raider, Mass Effect and

I have a 360 and a PS3 and picked the 360 version.

In the UK the PS3 version is 10 quid more expensive than the 360
version, so if you've got both consoles you are likely to pick
up the 360 version.

The only reason the 360 version was able to outsell the PS3 version
was because of the sheer numbers advantage, which is getting smaller
by the week.

This just shows it's not safe to assume that a game whose franchise
was previously exclusive to one system or another will automatically
sell better on that system.

Considering how much momentum the Playstation 3 has had in Europe as
of late, this is actually how I would expect it to work there.

Did Europe get similar PS3 commercials in the later months of last
year? We had commercials that actually focused on the PS3 version of
Assassin's Creed. I never once saw a commercial for the Xbox 360
version of Assassin's Creed.

1 quid is 1 UK Pound, almost $2 US Dollars.

Most of the cross platform games commercials in the UK are for the
PS3.

Here in the UK, all the adverts for Burnout paradise are for the PS3,
and they're none stop.
