DF:BHD/TS - Iran - last mission

Finally loaded up BHD & TS, and have gone thru all the campaigns in SP
-- except for the last Iranian mission of "Gachsaran Oil fields" --
really hit a roadblock w/in the mission at the point of attempting to
protect the two SAS troopers, who are going to disarm the oil well head
explosives.

No matter what tactic I seem to apply, I or the SAS troopers, after
meeting up, get wasted when ambushed. It doesn't help that the SAS
blokes act as if they want to earn posthumously the VC!! Attempting to
use the HUMMVs as a shield doesn't do much good since the SAS guys go
running off right into the open and attempt to duke it out.

Don't see any way to outflank, or order the SAS blokes to "hold
position", etc, etc, and given the actions programmed for the SAS
dudes, have really come to wits end as to how to solve this problem.

Can anyone help with a hint as to what should/might be a tactic to get
beyond this point? Just looking for a possible hint or two and not a
complete spoiler -- if possible.

I'm using the default CAR15/203.
