Hi Guys,
I've run across a problem with FS9.1 where the menu disappears
(I play with the top menu displayed) and a line appears at the
bottom of the screen, about 2cm high with various coloured
pixels in it, sometimes a garbled view of the cockpit which
remains in all views. I can't access any menu items even with
keyboard shortcuts and usually the game crashes soon
afterwards.
I run quite a few add-ons (FSPasengers, sceneries, F1 view,
walk and follow) so this is probably a long shot as one of
those might be causing it. It happens when I am just using FS
with none of these running though.
I'd appreciate any ideas because it's happening a lot, i've
reinstalled the game a few times with no result, and well,
it's bloody annoying!
Cheers!

Thanks Dallas, but I have the same problem on two different
machines, one a Dell and one a Siemens, so I don't think this
is the problem. >> Stay informed about: Crash Problem in FS9.1 |

Are you sure? If both machines have the same driver that might actually be
evidence that it is the driver.

I probably didn't make that clear. I have two different types
of machines, each running up to date drivers. One is using the
Dell drivers, the other PC is using different drivers. >> Stay informed about: Crash Problem in FS9.1 |

You may not have any add-ons running....but they may have
'dll's loading. (fsuipc, simconnect, etc etc)
I had a similar problem; so I copied my fs.cfg file to another
location, then deleted the original.
Started FS and it rebuilt the fs.cfg file. All was well afterwards.
Just a thought.....

On my last PC that would never work.
I had to saved my old cfg in another directory....use Notepad to
delete everything out of fs9.cfg and leave the empty file there. When
FS9 started it would then rebuild FS9.CFG. I could never figure out
why on that PC just deleting FS9.CFG would not allow FS9 to rebuild
it.

Just so you know, we don't "play" with FS here and it isn't a "game" it's a
simulation as far as we're concerned.
Now you say "I play with the top menu displayed". To get just the top menu
bar you have to be in full screen mode and then hit 'Alt'. This brings up
the menu bar but the sim stops until you hit 'Alt' again. What you mean is
you run FS in Windowed mode but you obviously have the bottom task bar
hidden. On my FS9.1 installation, if I do that I have a blue band about 1cm
high across the bottom, not as you describe.
Have you tried running in full screen mode? Hit 'Alt' and 'Enter'to get
there and let us know what happens then. The fact that you get this on two
separate and different setups is mystifying.
