When Consimworld was free it had no obligation to keep the forums up and
running. As a pay service, it owes its customers more than a simple apology
for its constant outages. Users should complain long and loud about these
outages which happen repetitively throughout the year. Some only last an
hour or two, while others may last for days.

Consimworld owes its paying customers more than it currently is providing.

This is pretty much why I thought that the subscription system was a
bad idea. It started as a way to help John Kranz with the bills. Now
people feel they have a right to tell him how to run things and whine
when they're not happy. I'm sure John didn't like having the forum
down either.

It came back around lunchtime, by the way.

Of course they do! If I'm paying for something and don't get it, I'm
perfectly entitled to complain. We, in the wargaming community. have a
tendency to make allowances for the shortcomings of our 'suppliers'. But
things have changed since the good old days of the 70s and 80s - if they're
in business, they should expect to be judged on the same basis as any other
commercial enterprise.
