I downloaded this - weighs in at roughly 800MB.

A very average FPS - feels cartoony, plot is clichéd and the demo lasts
around 5 minutes.

On the whole, a definite maybe. If it comes out on budget - as in £5 - I
might buy it.

I do these things so you guys don't have to. Really. I'm all heart.

I posted on this one a few days ago. Here was my take:

Since I've pretty much finished all the FPSs I have on my comp (well, I
should go back and finish Stalker and Bioshock, actually, but I was in the
mood for a military-style FPS), I figured I'd try out the new Conflict
Denied Ops demo. I guess my basic impression is: not bad. The graphics
are fairly solid, not exactly groundbreaking, but definitely pretty. It ran
smooth on my e6700, 2GB Ram, 8800GTX with all the settings maxed out. The
combat is a bit more arcadey than the tactical shooters I prefer. There is
some extra variety in that you can switch between the two different
characters, one more of a sniper and the other a heavy weapons type. It
uses a health system pretty much stolen from R6: Vegas (unless the earlier
Conflict games had it, never played them), where you don't really have hit
points but can only take so much damage in a short amount of time before you
are disabled and must be revived by your partner. You heal just by staying
out of harms way for a bit.

The mission I played was set in your typical stronghold in a South American
country (surprisingly, Venezuela, not some fake nation), but upon exiting
the game it showed a video of gameplay in a lot of diverse terrains from
jungles to arctic conditions.

I'm a bit up in the air on this one. It has a $40 price point. If it was
$30, I'd probably get it (release date is 2/12). I'm not quite sure whether
I pick this up or not. Depends what else is on the shelf at that time.
COD4 has set the bar so high for military shooters, I'm not quite sure if
this will scratch my itch until the next blockbuster FPS comes out (maybe
Rainbow 6: Vegas 2?).

Sorry - I didn't see your post but it's in there! I actually waited for the
demo to come online so presumed it must have been a new download, but looks
like it was an *updated* one and they had removed the old one temporarily.

I agree with both of you in that the demo was very mediocre and also ran
like a dog on my old system which still can fly with e.g. COD4 or ETQW.
