Hi everybody,
I've started packaging a few roguelike games for the Debian Linux
distribution. I'd like to package some Angband variants as well, but a lot
of them seem to require a lot of Makefile tweaking to compile properly on
Unix platforms.
So if anybody out there has custom Makefile for building any of the *bands
listed on thangorodrim.net* and is willing to share, please send them to
cafeine at no-log dot org and I'll be happy to package the software (with
due credits of course).
I'll post on r.g.r.a once I have a repository set up.
Thanks in advance
* Except Vanilla, Zangband, ToME (which are already part of Debian) and
Hengband (which I already packaged). >> Stay informed about: Compiling Angband variants on Unixes |

Good idea!
- The latest Sangband 0.9.9-beta20d should work without tweaking,
if not tell me since it should be my fault.
- Oangband 1.1.0 uses autoconf/automake so you should be able to build
that one without custom makefiles, just rebuild them autoconf and automake
if you have problems.
- Steamband, well, I did some assistance on that variant last summer so
my code is halfway towards the next version. So I can't really help
with the latest release. A new version will hopefully soon be out.
Other variants that are popular that you might want to package:
- Entroband (the replacement for the now unsupported Hengband).
- NPPAngband (Vanilla++)

Do you mean the editing of the target lines to include the desired
combination of -Ddefines and/or the editing of the list of files to
compile, link?
Or something more severe?
I've felt for some time that someone should break out the targets and
modify the list of files to build and link within the subtargets. This
isn't difficult, it's difficult to get all the upstreams to accept
similar.

Bless you for this.

What do you mean by this? Could you give an example, please?

Seconded! Do you keep your own apt repository, or will I be able to get
Heng from the standard Debian archive? (I use debian.blueyonder.co.uk)
I always wanted to do this for S, but never got round to it.
Well done,
