Hi,

No, it's not a new game, but a mod for Take Command : Second Manassas
- but it's looking so sweet it might just as well be a new game

Download & instructions from here :

the large mansion is the manor house of the plantation chatham on falmouth
heights across the rappahannock from f-burg.
these days the park service owns it and it is open for visitors.

in the U.S. "George Washington stayed here" is a sign one sees displayed
with pride on buildings lucky enough to have had george stay there.
its become a kind of cliche',joke thing.
chatham goes one better as both GW and Abe Lincoln both stayed there{at
different times}
burnsides used it as his HQ, the view of the battlefield from there is
excellent.

Fredericksburg. Dumbest battle ever fought. If the game is designed
correctly, the only way for the Union player can avoid total disaster is
to press "Start" and "Shut Down" from the Windows taskbar.

or try to push the union left forward where they did have success, one need
not just keep assaulting maryes heights like burnsides did.
it was a winnable battle for the union.

I want to buy the digital download of this game but they use one of those
dumbass digital download services that infects it with too much DRM. They
should have gone with MatrixGames or even Steam but they are probably locked
into a contract with the morons they chose to use.

i'm one of those whose puters won't run it correctly.
madminute acknowledges this problem but somehow doesn't manage to fix or at
least say what the cause is.
so it's a 50/50 chance as to whether it will run correctly.
too bad because it is an okay game.

You don't need an internet connection to install and, or, play it. Ive
done that myself.

I know, but it has one of those DRM thingies where you can only install it
so many times and then you have to email them for further installs. Not sure
if the license is tied to your current hardware too but I think it might
be. There are some that do that and you have to email them again just
because you changed hardware. I'm not emailing anyone to beg for further
installs just because I changed some hardware or installed it more than five
times. With Steam I could install it onto one million computers if I wanted
with no issue except I could only play it on one PC at a time. If I ever
lost a Steam backup I can just download it again with no questions asked.

What your saying would require an internet conection. That's the usual
way. It could work without a new installation of Windows. Not when you
did that.

What video card do you have? I just put in an 8800GT and sometimes older
games have issues with new hardware.

You can get the CD for $10 on Amazon.com right now (+$6 shipping). It
has a decent 120 page manual.

??? Not sure what you are saying. Not when I did what? I don't mind a one
time activation over the internet but I do mind having only five installs
and/or tied to my hardware. How exactly does the license in Take Command
work for the download version? I'm fairly certain I read it has limited
installs because I went to buy it twice now and both times I was scared off
by reading their licensing agreement.
