Hi,

The patch is just for the downloadable version, not for the Paradox
version (yet) and the new demo based on 1.05 is promised for next
week.

http://battlefront.com/products/cmsf/downloads.html

Early reports suggest a lot of small things were fixed, but major
problems remain with pathfinding, LOS and Tactical AI - which in a
tactical, modern setting are more a priority in my eyes than getting
dynamic lighting in the game - which this patch introduces. <sigh>

Greetz,

Eddy Sterckx

Not 60 seconds ago, their newsletter popped up in my inbox, and that was
my sentiment, exactly. Oh, joy. Dynamic lighting. What UNREAL showed
me a million years ago, now available in a buggy wargame.

I'm going to give it a whirl. This is one game that I seriously want to
work...

Are you sure LOS issues are bugs or the way the game is just designed? If
you read the developer's notes they mention something about LOS being
slightly abstracted because what you are seeing on screen is not measured
down to the last pixel when using LOS. I can't remember the exact figure but
it is only accurate down to about 3'. Therefore; what you see on screen is
not exactly what the LOS is and that is why it looks like they don't have
LOS when they actually do.

Played the first tutorial scenario again and my Strykers didn't perform the
can-can in front of the enemy. So far so good. I will report back when I get
a real scenario going....
