This is a long post, spoilers everywhere. But--If you want to WiFi to
get some cool, semi-rare stuff--fossils, gyroids, Snowman
furniture--email me at thomforesta.DeleteThis@yahoo.com or just scroll down to the
last paragraph. To see why WiFi might be important your game, check the
next couple paragraphs.
This is hardly a spoiler, since the giveaway is already over, and I
don't think any of us here knew about it. Recall in ACGC how Nintendo
had a few old, old Nintendo console games which they only gave out for
something like *one* week? Most players found that to be VERY
annoying...Not me, though, since at the time, I was reading Gamefaqs
every single day and never missed a beat.
Well, Nintendo is back up to their old tricks. Last time, they gave out
the ACGC Nintendo set via codes in Nintendo Power, recall. This time,
they're requiring you to WiFi during specific dates. Groan. I have
little doubt that I've missed out on the Coin forever, since they've
played this game with both AC and Pokemon for a long time now.
Looks like I'll be following events in the AC website and Gamefaqs a
little closer from here on out.
Interestingly enough, Nintendo has also been sending out glitched items
through WiFi...The one I heard about was a red flower you could plant
on stone pavement. After pulling it up, you could plant trees (or
anything else) there. Unfortunately, if you put it in your house, you
could never pick it up. This was the universal story on Gamefaqs, and
if you recall the Dummy from the Igloo series, you have to admit it
sounds more than likely.
Nintendo has even more sneaky tricks up their sleeves. Again, I don't
really regard this as a spoiler, since this is not actually in the
game, and in AC/GC there were many items (Zelda or Punch-Out, anyone?)
which were programmed in, but never distributed. This latest craze is
the Six Mysterious Monkeys. These are villagers that are fully
programmed into the game, but have not shown up in anyone's villages.
Not apes or baboons, these guys look pretty much like Porter.
If you really care about them, hackers are selling their pics for 250K
each at Gamefaqs.
Bright Nights has got to be the worst holiday ever. An entire week with
basically NO visitors. Not even Redd showed up. The only visitor I've
seen was the crying kitten, and she didn't show up till after midnight!
I had her follow me all over the village for an hour, then re-searched
the place again, but couldn't figure out what to do. I had to go to
bed, so I just saved and left her crying in the cold. (It *was* mildly
amusing watching her face-plant all over the place.)
My only clues are that I've heard that the kitten has something to do
with WiFi, and she wanted to go back to "London", the name of the last
village I actually went to. Any mild hints would be welcome, since I'm
quite sure I'll see her again.
I finally snagged Wolfgang's pic today, making my ninth that I've
earned. Yay. Benedict is my sole holdout now, and he thinks he already
gave me one. Huh? I recall meeting him once while my inventory was
full--he wanted to give me something, but couldn't. Other Gamefaqers
report this has happened to me and advised that I simply persevere. I
was about to have him for dinner...maybe a nice course of jerk
chicken...but I guess I'll wait.
Museum is almost done. Dino Track and Mammoth are now in. After two
ptera wings and two unknown single space items, I will be set. I
FINALLY nailed a Mole Cricket. Had a perfect setup where I pretty much
*knew* where it had to be--and the stupid bug could only run in one
direction, so I was able to change out equipment in no time. I really
miss the old days when the animals would just stare at the spot in the
ground. Now all I lack is a Bee, but I will have many, many chances on
that one.
My mortgage is completely paid off now. I spent Superbowl night on a
marathon fishing binge and paid it off by 11 pm. Two months precisely.
Didn't have to draw off my savings. Nice.
Unfortunately, I'm kind of at loss for things to do now. I got my first
gift from Boondox, and I'm going to investigate what it takes for the
next. And I'm working on my first postal savings gift--just shy of 475K
right now. Since there isn't any way to get the Crown except hard cash,
I suppose I'll be needing all those Bells in due time.
I've started playing with hybrid flowers and a red turnip, but haven't
gone very far as of yet. I really, really don't feel like working on a
Perfect Village right now...I'm still trying to get a decent orchard
going, and I just got the last types of fruit I needed. Oh, and
naturally, after I went through so much trouble to get a peach, my
Mother sent me one in the mail two days later. Grumble.
I don't really want to use Gamefaqs as a source for friend codes, since
almost everyone there is a Time Traveller or a Hacker. Or too young to
figure out how to do either. On the other hand, I'm accumulating a HUGE
amount of rare junk that I would like to trade or sell to anyone but
Nook...Snowman stuff, gyroids, fossils. My prices aren't high. Heck,
I'm mainly just hoping to trade for new gyroids and my last four
fossils.
Anyway, email me at thomforesta.DeleteThis@yahoo.com if you're game. I should be
free for just about anytime over the weekend, but I prefer to
coordinate these things, since I have to drive to get a WiFi spot.
Sorry to be so prolix; have a nice day. >> Stay informed about: Did *anyone* here get the Coin? [WW Month 3] |
