Coh Opposing Usage

Well I must say, this is the first time I buy a game which I can't
play directly without being prompted for some bloody patch that
doesn't download.

The first CoH was wonderful, finally a game where the publisher
trusted the buyer but this new scheme is just ridiculous. I think this
was the last time I buy from THQ - what a company of morons.

I am having the same problem with Dawn of War. Tech support says that
the download servers may be "temporarily" down, well it's been that
way for a week. Other people over at relicforums are also reporting
the same issue. THQ needs to get on this or just release the freaking
patches through their website already.
