Hello badgerfriends

A simple request - I'm playing a druid for the 1st time under 3ed...

Stats - all start at 7, 32 points to distribute, no >18s prior to
racial mods
Use any published d20 suppliment - What sort of exciting druid PC can
you suggest - with a view to a vile munchkinesque metagaming PrC if
possible

A virtual chocolate biscuit and specialy crafted badgermancer ode for
the best suggestion.

For druids, I like the Incarnate prestige class from Secrets &
Societies (which fixes a couple of things from the first version in
Relics & Rituals). In the S&S version, you change to an Incarnate after
learning to wildshape, so you keep all the small and medium animals
stuff, but lose out on other wildshape (so this might not be munchkinny
enough if you were hoping to do the usual "change into a bear and kick
ass" stuff).

What you gain instead: Past lives. At 1st level, you can wildshape into
any CR 1 (or less) animal or vermin. Since you've already got all the
animal forms of that CR available, you can become a vermin. There's no
limit on size, so you can become an itty-bitty one. My personal choice
(since few itty-bitty vermin have actual stats) is the "nightsinger"
from the Creature Collection. It has a ridiculous DC on its
hallucinatory poison.

At 4th and 8th level, you get other animal/vermin choices of the
appropriate CRs. I don't know that there's an optimal choice, but I
like dire bat at 4th (since that lets you take the Blindsight feat from
the druids 3.0 splatbook) and COLOSSAL GIANT CENTIPEDE at 8th level
(just for the WTF aspect... plus the nasty DC poison).

At 2nd, 6th, and 10th level, you get to choose some non-animal,
non-vermin forms. My personal preferences would be hippogriff at 2nd
(just so you can fly and carry people), and whatever humanoid you like
at 6th and 10th (wood elf, mermaid, etc), since you can then assign
extra stat points to yourself for choosing lower than the required CR
forms. You can then make this your permanent regular form, replacing
your original form, giving yourself a slight munchkinny advantage. (You
should start as human for the extra feat and skill points, and then
maybe become a wood elf for the other stuff.) If this is your plan,
then you might not put a lot of points into physical stats originally
(saving it for mental stats), and then gain great physical stats this
way.

Now the past lives might not make up for what you're missing with
wildshape and etc, but you do get some extra domains and spontaneous
casting that might make it worthwhile.

Isn't that Ur-priest? Not really druidic though. Druids are very
munchkin to begin with. there's some interesting fets in eberron
though, stuff that lets you change into a chimera or something. I
think I remember something about some feats that let you summon
*things* instead of animals as well.

Also if you are low level, be sure to buy dogs, horses, and any other
animals you can get your hands on, and pump your animal handling. They
all fight better than you. Not to mention making it easier to make
friends with any lions tigers and bears you might meet along the way.

Oh, and don't forget to come from the 'swamp' that way you can have a
croc as an animal companion at 1st lv.
