Hi,
Firstly, I am glad to see news of a C4, even if its really not the
same game anymore hehe...guess the rumours came out to be true
Second, can anyone give me a link to the hotkey patch for C3? I too am
in the "its too difficult so I just dont feel like playing it" camp
but I want to give it a try with the hotkeys. Can anyone please point
me to it?
Third, I bought this game Panzers, and its really great
Its got a WW2 setting and lets you control all types of infantry,
supply vehicles, tanks, artillery, etc. A very different game from
Commandos, but I just thought i would let you guys know
I've been playing it and its a pretty cool game. Excellent graphics
too.
Anyhow, I was thinking of reinstalling C2 and playing it again....
Unless you guys give me a link to the patch and I play C3 instead

Hey Phoenix, I still play C2. That is a great game, so go for it. I still
play BEL and right now I'm on Mission 16.
I checked out that Panzers game, it does look like a pretty good game. Did
you ever try the Microsoft games? I can't remember the series now, but the
one I have is A Bridge Too Far. It is an old game but as far as strategy
goes, great game to play.
What I am hoping for is that C4 will have a multiplayer mode and maybe we
can get something going like a clan and teams or something and play online.
Something to think about.
I seen the link to the patch somewhere in the newsgroup but can't find it
now, iakovos must have the link, after all, he is our Commandos guru and
fearless leader!

Heh, Sparx. There was a time when I used to say that
Anyway, was too lazy to look at the FAQ so thought I'd just ask. I am
not sure what to do with the file, so now I will proceed to check the
FAQ and see exactly what to do.

Well, after playing C2, the earlier commandos games became too
cumbersome for me But yeah, I think I'm gonna start on C2. I
remember I used to stay up till late at night, finishing mission after
mission on it. Sometimes till 6am too!

I played the Close Combat series a looooong time ago. I was too young
to fully appreciate the game, and I haven't given them a try since.
However, I want to get my hands on some of them and give them a try.
Everywhere I go, I only hear good things about them
Btw, Panzers is a great game It is very nicely made, the mission

Heh, the previous games had a multiplayer mode too. I hope C4 has a
GOOD multiplayer mode so that we can do what you suggest

I keep talking to iakovos so I'll ask him if I don't find it in the
FAQ. He hasn't played C3 either (hehe).
Well, good to see some of you guys still hang around.
Most have gone.
And I still am wondering about the disappearance of Wouter.

I always wanted to see Sudden Strike (?)... does anyone have an opinion on
that one?
It has a WW2 background as well. Is it like Panzers?

The Sudden Strike series were not that good, if the reviews are to be
believed. Go to gamespot.com and read the review there. Plus, it
doesn't look like a game that will appeal to me. Anyway, its totally
beaten by games such as Panzers, Blitzkrieg which are tremendous
graphically and gameplay wise.

I did play BEL and CBTCOD lots of times, before getting my hands on C2. C2
was a major improvement in the Commandos series. Too bad C3 did not follow
the formula exactly as it was.
But yeah, I think I'm gonna start on C2. I
> remember I used to stay up till late at night, finishing mission after

I knew that with C2 I had to take my time, because of the scale of the
missions, their size and of course because I wanted to explore every aspect
in them. It was more like an adventure than a strategy game. And I loved it.

Sure, excellent idea. And I am always thinking about a mod tutorial as well.
We badly need one to get things going. I do want to create my old story
"Vodka Nights" into a full blown mission. I did create maps for it when I
wrote it.

Ok, thanks for the input. I am mainly interested in games commando-wise,
that's why I want to give Heroes of WW2 a go to see if it is any good.

Exactly. Before getting your hands on C2. I played those games too,
while waiting for C2...hehe...we used to have huge discussions in this
group, if you remember...
Though I think you were in the army at that time.

He has disappeared completely, with his hot sister Hehe...I
sometimes wonder, did he just make her up or was she for real?
LOL...maybe we will never know.
I have a friend who I used to play America's Army with who talks quite
like him. A lot like him. LOL...
Though he is from Slovenia...and Wouter was in the NL.
