Hey folks,
What's with the missions to be found on the beaches.
I approach the red circle but the message says "The cluckin' cock isn't
ready yet!"
What's the scoop?
Cheers
PJ

There are some ad posters for these triathlons in one of the gyms, I
think the SF one. Fairly funny. >> Stay informed about: Cluckin' Cock |

Doesn't that happen in all the races? It's just how the game works. In
the game world, there is this small bubble where your character is in
the middle. Cars, peds, bikes and suchlike exist only inside this
small bubble.
Now, if you're in a race and you leave your opposition so far behind
that they fall out of the bubble what happens is that the game
respawns them inside the bubble. In the triathlons, what you see is
the other triathloners magically teleporting ahead on the course.
In the longer car races you can often see other cars crash or go over
cliffs or something, but then they magically appear on your tail a
while later. >> Stay informed about: Cluckin' Cock |

I took part in quite a few pentathlons in middle and high school.
There's nothing to it really (The other two events were high and long
jump).
To the original poster: The "Beat The Cock" triathlon race available
from the Santa Maria Beach is only available after the mission "The
Green Sabre".
After this mission, the San Fierro, the Badlands and the countryside
north of Los Santos are all unlocked. As Paul stated, it's only
available on certain days - saturday and sunday.
On a side note, I'd really like a real-time GTA instalment. I know that
realism isn't exactly what Rockstar are aiming for, but after San
Andreas anything is possible.
Cheers,
Rob

Strange. For me (PS2 'Greatest Hits' edition), all of Red County (the 4
towns, the Panopticon, Fern Ridge, Hilltop Farm, etc.) was unlocked from the
beginning of the game, except for the safe houses... [*I* define 'unlocked',
anyways, in GTA:SA terms as "you don't get a big-ass wanted level going
there"]

Sorry, I should have mentioned that. You can "legally" go there and not
acquire a wanted level, but you can't do any safehouse buying (The next
spread of missions covers a fair bit of ground for the countryside.
Catalinas, for example, take you all the way to Palomino Creek I
think).
Btw, does anybody else think it's strange that Helena doesn't spawn
until you unlock the country? Michelle, Barbara and Katie all spawn,
even though you can't date them properly. Helena's house is somewhere
you can't go, just like all the others. Weird.
Cheers,
Rob
