Hey,

This has probably been discussed but as I did not think I would be using
Vista anytime soon...

Anyway, ended up with a new computer and Vista pre loaded...

Civ 4 seems to work OK...ie have gone to the beginning of a game and see a
settler and unit but when I try to do my existing PBEM turns it crashes...

Any known fixes or do i have to abandon those games....

Thanx for any assistance
Cheers

I'm not aware of that problem but I don't do PBEM. Try
running it 'as administrator' that can often solve odd
problems with games and vista. Although beware that some
games behave differently when run as admin and look in
different folders for save games and such.

Sounds like you have incompatible save and game versions. Did you run the
patcher?

Thanx to those who helped...in the end I think it had to do with some
security settings on Vista, some elements missing from DX 9.0 which then
allowed to patch up to the same version

Never easy Smile
