Oh, well. I would have had it open up a menu or some sort of option for
choosing which version you wanted to play. But since Conquests after it
is installed gives you the "complete" version then it makes sense.

Each version plays a little bit differently. The tech tree was modified
at one point. Great leaders were split into scientific and military
leaders at one point. So yes there is a difference. You can't start a
game in Civ3 and play it later in PTW or C3C just so you know.

The way they made PTW and C3C was to have them use components already
existing in Civ3. Thus a subdirectory for PTW and then later a
subdirectory for C3C. You made the smartest move of all and got all
three versions for the price of one.

That option would probably be for the "conquest" scenarios which is the
main reason that C3C was given the name Conquests.
