This game can be played with ANY memory card. While you can play the game
without a card, it really can't be of any usage because you've got to go
through too much stuff to really do anything and then lose it all to start
over. Use any memory card you want.

Your kids have the following options:
Be "citizens" of your town
Have their own towns on their own cards(one town per card only, it's the
law and Nintendo will enforce it). This option is better: allows visiting.
