the other 3 nights? And the time before/after the 4 hours?
Sometimes more, sometimes less.

sorry, 4 days 4 hours is nowhere near hardcore.
Most people begin it because it can be fun. And if the whole raid is
good at it, it keeps being fun.

mostly they help the other members of the raid group also get their
gear, they level up some alts, they wait for the next raid instance or
go test it on the PTR, do some lower instances just for fun and money,
etc, etc, etc.
And the way Blizzard handles it, you'll probably never have "all the
gear", you could always use that item there over this here in that
situation in yonder instance to get 0.02356DPS more on a sunny winter
day in May.
