GURPS character creator is only 3rd compatible last I checked. And not
easy to use. >> Stay informed about: Gurps Character Creator |

If you mean GURPS Character Assistant, I find it perfectly useable,
though it lacks some frills (mainly tools for east creation of
templates, etc.) right now. It's very consistent with the 4th edition
rules, and you can download data files for new books as they come out,
for free.

3rd edition book that has some problems in 4d given that Ritual and

You know, until I followed his like I thought Kent was snidely speaking
of the printable PnP sheet and doing the math in your head. But this
program looks really cool.
I have used the 3rd and 4th ed of Gurps Character Assistant and while
it is pretty usable, it does feel unwieldy and inflexible at times.
Normally I do everything but equipment on it to save myself the math
and then transfer to a paper version to finish stuff like equipment and
DR by location. >> Stay informed about: Gurps Character Creator |

Not a reply to Wylie in general, but Eric B. Smith has made a data file
version, for the official 4E character creation software, in which the
skills are sorted by category. I haven't checked out the 4E software at
all, but if I was going to use it frequently, I'd definitely try to get
the category-sorted datafile. Having to interact with one long list of
skills, like 150 skills (or how many there are in 4E), sorted only
alphabetically, would be downright painful.

I know it's bad form to reply to my own post, but I tried out Gurps
Character Sheet this morning and I think I'm a convert. It is not
perfect, and uses some CRTL-SHIFT-C sort of shortcuts, but it is more
flexible then GCA. >> Stay informed about: Gurps Character Creator |

So, is there any kind of link or a way to purchase this? I liked the
freeware program that we were given, but that catagorey sorting sure
sounds tasty...
That said, you can download from SJ Games a pdf of all the skills in
such a format, so that's a bit of low-tech solution to use with that
excellent freeware character generator. >> Stay informed about: Gurps Character Creator |
