Given that I deleted most of a quest log full of group quests from
Netherstorm & SMV when I hit Howling Fjord, I've tried to answer
requests for group quests whenever I can, even if I don't have the
quest yet/anymore. It sucks to be standing in the middle of a zone
with only two quests left, and no way to finish them.

The good side is most the "5-man" quests are fine with 3 people, some
even with 2, so long as you have a healer and something that can take
some hits (not necessarily tank specced, but wearing plate/fur would be
handy) So it may be a bit easier to get the groups together than
spcifically needing 5 people.

Ah, can be a problem yeah, I got lucky personally, first batch I did
with a tanking guildie and we pulled some pugs in to fill the gaps, and
then another day I'd literally been in the zone 2 mins when someone
asked on general if anyone wanted to do a quest I had, 2 mins later we
had a group of 5 consisting of tank healer and 3 dps, and even more
amazingly 3 of us had pretty much all the quests I needed so I stayed
with them for an hour or so and finished the zone

Sounds a bit like my old guild; I'd worried that it being an alts guild
would end in it going quiet at WotLK and eventually decided to join some
friends in their guild on my priest (since my old guild went silent
about 2 months before WotLK), well, sure enough, the only people who got
above 70 left anyway - one I finally persuaded to follow me the other
day, the other went off to another guild, and nobody else has even
logged on in weeks except my alts (which I'm slowly moving across to my
new guild since it's nice to actually have somebody to talk to when I'm
playing...) Shame, we were a great group a year ago, but I always
suspected it wouldn't last when WotLK came round. Hope your guild wakens
up again though!

Hm, I'm sorry to hear about your guilds falling apart. We also had a few
dicey moments. As you might remember, I am in a non-raiding guild that has a
subgroup that formed a raiding alliance with three other guilds. Getting
into the raid and getting into the guild are totally independent, meaning we
a have quite a few guildies that raid in other setups, quite a few (such as
myself) that don't raid at all and then those on our raiding allliance. You
can apply to the raiding alliance even if you are not from one of the three
guilds constituing the core of it. Being accepted into the raid does not
mean you can (or need to) join one of the guilds, in fact we haven't
accepted more then 3 or 4 people into the guild over the last 18 months, and
they are all RL friends of current guild members.
In any case, the alliance has been going strong since the pre-BC 40 man
content, survived the change to 25 man raid content, with a difficult 2
month period wiping on Lady Vashj and then pulling through.
Towards the end of BC, with the decreased raid difficulty, quite a few new
people applied to the raid and were accepted and some of them apparently do
not fit our "guild spirit" so a lot of the old time raiders in the alliance
from our guild (we are the biggest contributor out of the three guilds)
pulled out of 25 man raiding with WotLK and 2 even left the guild to play in
smaller guilds. There was a moment's danger that this would lead to a chain
reaction but it seem that things have quited down again. Those 6 people who
pulled out of the raid are now concentrating on 10 man content and 5 man
heroics and their alts and it seems everything is stable again.
I hope this holds up, but at the moment, things are looking good.
Cheers
Urbin

Glad it sounds like it's working out, hope it stays good! With my old
guild I'd had a feeling it was always likely to happen, was always a
very small guild with most people being alts, and the guild I'm now in
is a bunch of really good people so it's worked out well overall, just
I'd like to have my old friends around too. Hopefully those who start
playing again I can persuade to join me in my new guild eventually

Yeah, I was shouting in Zul'Drak for help with the ampitheatre and the
gods quest but no luck. I'm level 80 now so I managed to solo the
first step of the 3-man gods quest which requires that you farm some
77 elites for two drops but I'm not sure that I'll be able to kill the
prophet solo. I'll give it a try tonight.
I think that I need to do those quests to get the achievement as I'm
at about 95 out of 100 and I don't think that I've missed any quest
hubs. Any hordies remember if they had to do group quests for the
Zul'Drak acheivement?

Yes, you do, at least some of them. When I got the achievement, I had
2 quests left in the zone to do, so only 102 quests that I know of in
the zone. >> Stay informed about: Cash gained by Quests alone from 70-80 |

There is also a Gun'Drak quest that chains out of a very long quest
chain that includes several group quests. I spent a good bit of time
getting a group just so I could knock out that quest chain. >> Stay informed about: Cash gained by Quests alone from 70-80 |
