Hi
I have nightlife, uni, and of course the sims 2 installed on my pc. It is
running nicely and i love the game. Recently the careers icons disappeared
from view - that is where thye normally appear they are not anymore. This is
everywhere, in uni when choosing majors, on the computer, in the paper, and
in the jobs and skills section of sims status. They are gone, and i dont
know why. They were there before nightlife, and there after i installed it,
only just now this happened. Restarting the game does not help. I have no
downloads for the sims 2 installed, just the expansion packs listed. Is
there an easy way to fix this or do i have to re-install it all over again?
Thanks

This was supposed to have been fixed in the patch, but basically your
objects.package
file gets corrupted.
Basically, replace the corrupt objects.package from the \Program Files\EA
Games\Nightlife\ something or other folder with one from the Nightlife cd.
It's part of a zip file called "Compressed", and i think might be on disc 2.
MTS2 used to have a link on how to fix it, but they (stupidly) removed it,
since as I said, Maxis was supposed to have fixed the problem, but it still
crops up. >> Stay informed about: Careers icons gone |

Also, try installing the patch for Nightlife, this might also fix the
problem >> Stay informed about: Careers icons gone |

now.
Thanks for the input.

After you copy the uncorrupted file to the game folder, just set it to
read-only, and it won't get corrupted anymore. >> Stay informed about: Careers icons gone |
