Hi all:
I've been building and running an online Campaign and Tournament manager
application over the last 8 months; We're using it in the local store/club,
and another nearby store/club is also using it.
It is now at a level (features and reliability-wise) where I think it's a
viable product, and I'm opening the doors for paid subscription (first three
months Free Trial!).
You can see the documentation here:
http://sdahl.net/campaign-docs/ and browse
the current and recent campaigns and tournaments here:
http://sdahl.net/campaign/.
Features include:
* Warhammer 40K and Warhammer Fantasy support.
* Support for both map-based Campaigns and Tournaments.
* Tournament modes: Open (Challenge-based), Swiss Draw and Round-Robin.
* Highly customizable special rules for campaigns - it is possible to give
each faction unique rules and objectives in a campaign.
* Player Ratings, based on the ELO system also used for chess, go etc.
Features soon to come:
* Lord of the Rings support
The application is targeted primarily at stores/clubs that wish to offer
something more than tables, terrain and soda for their players. With an
ongoing campaign or tournament, players can be sure that there is an opponent
and a game waiting for them on club night.
It is also a convenient tool for small player groups that want to set up a
campaign and tell a story, but don't want the hassle of managing maps, moves,
special rules etc etc.
The application is also a convenient place to store battle records - it keeps
a complete history of all games played, ever, and allows fluff authors to
publish battle reports any time after the game is played.
It costs 25 Euro per year for a group of 20 players and a Referee, or 5 Euro
per year for a single player (who will need a friendly referee to set up
tournaments!). The first three months are a Free Trial period - it should be
enough to play a short campaign to conclusion and decide if the service is
good enough to pay a little money for.
