Hi, I have a dual core AMD 4700+ system that doesn't run COD or COD
United Offensive. COD 2 runs fine. The issue is that the game acts
weirdly. Characters freeze standing up, or the game won't move on
because an event doesn't occur. Does anyone have similar issues? Any
fixes?

Thanks!

What video card? If nVidia, there will probably be a patch
needed. I don't think it is a cpu problem.

A64 X2 4800+, XP Pro SP2 and x64. I've found that earlier 80 series vid
drivers wreak havoc with some software. The current WHQL set I can NOT use
if I plan to play a couple of my games (DEIW is one) or run Paint Shop Pro 9
or X. They will not run under those drivers. It's the dual core support
they put into the 80 series.
I'm using a set from Guru3D, 83.62 beta x64 version. Running everything so
far! Smile

What brings you to that specific conclusion, based on the description
of the problem from the OP ?

Or are you just using the posting as an excuse for another wild
anti-nVidia troll ?

Instead, maybe you could have suggested to the OP to do a CTRL-ALT-DEL
to bring up System Manager without stopping the game, right-click on
the game's .exe, doing a Set Affinity to a single CPU core and return
to the game by clicking on its bar at the bottom of the desktop screen
to see if the problem has gone away ?

BTW, a note to the OP -- a 4700+ does not exist..... Smile Smile

Thanks to all who gave me help! I used the "imagecfg.exe" file to make a
permanent fix and run COD and CODUO with only one processor and that
cured the problems. Thanks again to all who contributed!
