Here's one for all you Combat Mission grongards out there.

I recently bought CMAK which I love, and unfortunately quickly went through
all the pregenerated scenarios which came with the game, most of which I
found excellent. Since I haven't found the instant battles to be nearly as
fun, I've been playing around with the CMAK scenario generator to enhance /
enlatge some of the existing scenarios, and thus extend the life of this
game.

Seemingly a great idea but I quickly ran into some annoying problems. Most
recently I took one called "Le cross roads" or something similar (dont have
it on this PC) but it's the one where some English recon troops and a Free
French Armored infantry Company backed up by a platoon of Stuarts attack a
German NCO school.

I liked the map and I thought this one would be a fun Scenario to extend the
turn limit on and add some random reinforcements on both sides, turning it
into an epic running fight to control the NCO school, the town, and the
crossroads.

Unfortunately, when I set it up and started playing, all my reinforcemeents
showed up on the wrong side of the map. I had designated the North and East
sides as Allied-friendly and West and South as German-Friendly. But first
the Allied (US) reinforcements showed up in the South-West corner which made
no sense, and even worse, some of the tanks in small clearings in the forest
with no way out~! Then to add insult to injury, the first German
reinforcements showed up a couple of turns later in exactly the same spot.

So how can I set the location of the reinforcements, or is it even possible?
This is really annoying!

Setting reinforcement locations is done by the counters at scenario set-up.

Example, when designing a scenario, once you build your forces and
reinforcements, for example let's say Reinforcement 1 is a Para platoon that
you have set up to show up on turn 10, and Reinforcement 2 is a motorized
rifle company set up to show up on turn 12.

After you have set the forces, you go to the map editor, and there will be a
counter/tag for each reimforcement number (in this case tag's marked 1 and
2).

You then place these tags anywhere on the map you want them to show up, and
on the specified turn they will arrive in that location.

The tags usually default to the axis side of the map, you just have to
manually place them.

Have a visit to my site, www.the-proving-grounds.com (aka TPG). It is
a site devoted to beta testing new scenarios. There's also several
resources available for new scenario designers - tips, do's and don'ts,
etc., all supplied by members of the community. I think you'll find it
an invaluable resource.

Also, after you've had your new scenarios beta-tested, you can quickly
and easily move them from TPG to www.the-scenario-depot.com (aka TSDII)
with just a couple of mouse clicks. This is the updated site for
archiving scenarios created by players.

If you have any questions, feel free to email or drop by the sites,

there any news on the campaign version of CM?
