It may exist on your server, but it doesn't exist on mine, nor on
any other major server that I know of (save Google, and they're broken in
their own ways). If a group gets added to the Big-8, though, it will be
highly visible on all well-configured servers for years to come.

I'd like to hear from some other people here. Would they like a unified Sid
Meier's Civilization newsgroup?

Unfortunately we have .civ2 and .civ3 groups. Killing a usenet group
is effectively impossible. (Look over the group list someday--you'll
find a lot of groups that are spelling errors.) >> Stay informed about: CIV4 - is it here? |

It exists on my Roadrunner server, but there are zero messages in it. >> Stay informed about: CIV4 - is it here? |

Right, better go on with this nere ng. The dream would be to rename
this NG, but dreams are not available on usenet

I can see 4 general-purpose Usenet servers. All 4 carry
alt.games.microprose.civilization. >> Stay informed about: CIV4 - is it here? |

I know. I meant that it would make sense to have one newsgroup for all civ
discussions instead of founding a new one every time a new version of the
game is relased.

I'm comofrtable with that, provided some genius doesn't go off and found a
new group called alt.games.civ4. And then, in a few years, alt.games.civ5
and so on ad infinitum.
