I hate Best Buy. I went to Best Buy yesterday to purchase The Sims 2:
Teen Style Stuff Pack. I had found it at Curcit City for $9.99 (before
my 10 percent sales tax kicks in; makng it $10.98 after tax) and while
Best Buy and everyone else is selling for $19.99 (before tax and
$21.98 where I am at). I brought a circular and an online print out of
the add stating that Curcit City is offering it for a cheaper price.
This is where I got pissed. My Curcit City's shipment truck was late
to deliver its' shipment and it was not in-store, yet, but, a sales
clerk by the name of John said they would give a price match if a
sales clerk from Best Buy calls to confirm. Which they did, but, that
sales clerk said that she could not "ring it up" because Curcit City
did NOT have it in-store yet. I told her that the shipment was late to
come in and I was reassured that Curcit City would allow the game to
be sold at that listed price. I had this problem with Bon Voyage, but,
the (different) sales clerk felt sorry for me and sold it to me at the
SAME Best Buy store I went to yesterday. The the H#!L? Why does Best
Buy (or any other store) do not say this in-store, online, or in adds?
I think that they are trying to drive AWAY business instead of
BRINGING in business? Reply if you like. I am still waiting on them to
post IN-STOCK - AVAILABLE NOW on that site before I go.

Sorry, but Circuit City is wide;lly known for their bait-and-switch
seelling tactics..they advertise with no product and always have a
story...How much is your time worth? After you've run from store to
store trying to get it on the cheap, did you really? Add up your time,
and the amount of gas you uised. The add on a couple more dollars for
your added frustration.

Huh? I though the OP was complainng about Best Buy not accepting that CC
might at some time decide to sell the thing at a certain price if they ever
get it it in that, and that katy was suggesting that might be because CC is
known for odd tactics.

Not that I care as I am in the UK with nither of them. Though the inside of
Comet stores these days looks to be modelled on Best Buy. Smile

The gist of what i was saying passed by, I guess....Circuit City is also
notorious for having the end-runs of products...that's why they are
cheaper...they are not the current manufactured product...and it's why
you can sometimes never find an equal in other stores...they've bought
out the end of the series....only problems I've ever had with Best Buy
is that their puter people are sometimes lacking in experience and
shouldn't be answering tech questions. I miss having a CompUSA down here...
