Buffer Overrun in Halo: Combat Evolved

This problem happens occasionally when I play Halo Multiplayer for about an
hour or so. Halo unexpectedly quits and shows an error saying that a buffer
overrun has occurred. Why does this happen and what can I do to fix it?

bufferoverrun isn t just some system error it s made by someone.
it was about a half year ago when i played death island and some guy named rael came to play with me.i kicked his ass so he started abuseing like an idiot and he sayd that hes going to close my server down.he counted numbers 1, 2 3 and ...
quess what i saw,bufferoverrun detected,
of course i didn t give up,i came back online,even he sayd that i m presistant(sorry about the english by the way) and i abused him the best way i could,he expected something like"oh mighty hacker don t close me down ,you are the man",but i just kept on abuseing.
the story goes on but any way,i wish i could show up at hes house an beat him to the hospidal,because i have had this error messege bufferoverrun too many times now
