Ever go to the store when you were a kid and there was toy or somethng
similar that you wanted and you were going to get it but you had to
save your money up and go out and shovel snow or clean yards or
somesuch to make some more money so you could get enough money to buy
that thing you wanted?

And every time you went to the store you'd stop by and take a look at
that item, opps, I mean toy, and just look forward to having that
thing and you knew you were going to get it and it would be yours and
it was just a matter of time and hard work and patience between you
without it and you with it.

Yeah that's how I feel. Although I personally do not stop by that
Sha'tar quartermaster if my warrior toon had a life of his own I just
picture him over there when I am off-line just looking at that shield
and his mouth watering maybe him getting a feeling like he can't wait
to have it, maybe even getting all hot and bothered and fired up and
yelling and screaming OH! OH! OH! or something similar, maybe looking
like a total ass running around the center of shat hollering that one
day soon that shield will be his...

There I feel better now...

SOON!! THAT SHIELD WILL BE MINE!!

OH! OH! OH!

Orion

P.S. I'll say this, I think I've gotten to a point where I can tank
Arc with my eyes closed.

Good luck. About two months ago I started thinking what shield I want
for my pally. Crest of Sha'tar was one of the choices, but the rep
grind to exalted felt like a huge effort. I decided to get a PVP
shield instead (Gladiator's shield wall). A lot more armor and
stamina, but less defense. I got the shield quite quickly. After two
months, I'm still not exalted with Sha'tar. Maybe one day... I'd like
to get exalted for the healing mace.

i can't comprehend gear of that magnitude. i'm happy if my warrior
gets wood shield that's not too splintered and the support rivets
aren't sticking out too much. good luck in your journey for the new
shield!

I didn't find the rep grind to be all that bad with Sha'tar. My goal
was revered with them as they had a trinket I wanted and a good head
enchant for my warlock. Once I got revered I didn't really care about
Sha'tar rep anymore. Not much later I was exalted with Sha'tar. I
wasn't trying to exalted, it just happened through doing quests and
running TK instances.

Always do the normal or heroic daily quests when they are for a TK
instance. Not only do you get rep for killing mobs in the instance,
but you also get rep for both Sha'tar and Consortium when you turn in
the quest.

Work on your aldor/scryer rep. Whenever you gain rep with those
factions, you gain a very small amount of Sha'tar rep as well.

DO NETHERSTORM. There are a lot of quests in Netherstorm that not
only provide you with aldor/scryer rep, but also Sha'tar rep as well.
Also your aldor/scryer faction quests in SMV help too. In fact one of
the scryer quest chains I did led to a group quest called Battle of
the Crimson Watch, which you turn the last step in to A'dal, which
gets you a decent amount of Sha'tar rep and a green quality tabard.

Revered is easy, but exalted takes some work.

I know I could get exalted relatively quickly if I really wanted, but
I'm not in a hurry. That healing mace would be nice, but I'm usually a
tank, so I can live without it.

Revered with Scryers already. I believe you won't gain Sha'tar rep
from Aldor/Scryers quests after honored.

I've done all the quests I've found. I do have the tabard. I still
have some heroic mode quests (trial of Naaru chain for example) which
would give some Sha'tar rep, but not many.

I get Sha'tar rep mostly from heroics. Botanica and Alcatraz (never
tried Mechanar in heroic mode). I've collected 130 heroic badges since
I dinged 70, but most of them are from Coilfang Reservoir and Karazhan
I think. I'm not yet exalted with any of Outland factions, although
Cenarion expedition is close (only 2.5k missing). 8k of Sha'tar rep
required to exalted.

Everyone's probably heard me whine about this one already but here
goes anyway:

Farm The Sun Eater-http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29362 from Heroic
Mech. I'm still waiting on mine to drop. 49 runs and seeing Panthaleon
EVERY SINGLE NIGHT and still no sword. I got revered in the process of
turning in the Heroic dailies and changed from the Ogri'la Aegis-
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32652 to the Crest Of The Sha'tar. Mech
is an easy badge farm and Panthaleon is a joke to kill even at Heroic
with a good wrecking crew.

And when you get the Crest, gem it for Stamina and keep the Aegis and
re-gem it for Avoidance or raw def/block rating. Don't make the
mistake I did and dump the Aegis off the bat only to realise what a
good shield it still was even with the Crest in my inventory.

I forgot to mention, keep an eye on your buffs when you are in
Shattrath. Whenever a guild downs Kael in the Eye, Sha'tar rep gains
in TK instances gets buffed. You'll see a buff, I think its called
A'dal's Blessing, anytime you enter Shattrath or one of the TK
instances. When you see that buff, do your best to get into a TK
instance. I know at least twice after I hit revered I saw that buff,
and just happened to coincide with a daily in TK.

The normal daily quests also have a high chance of being a TK quest.
There are much fewer level 70 normal dungeons than heroics. There are
7 level 70 normal dungeons, and 3 of them are TK. So the chances of
getting a normal dungeon quest in TK is high. What I would do is
always pick up the daily quest even if you don't have time to run it.
Then later when you do have time, but that day's daily is somewhere
else, you still have the one that awards Sha'tar rep.

Read it again, I was talking about the normal dungeon daily quest, not
the heroic daily. Normal meaning non-heroic. Normal meaning there
are only 7 non-heroic level 70 instances you can get the normal
(remember, thats non-heroic) daily quest. Since 3 of those normal
(did I mention this means non-heroic) level 70 instances are TK
instances, then you have a 3/7 chance of getting a TK quest for the
normal (almost forgot, thats non-heroic) daily quest.

You did miss one - there are four in TKF: Mana Tombs, Auchenai Crypts,
Shadow Lab and Sethekk Halls.

The good thing about daily non-heroics is you can complete them on
heroic difficulty, so you don't have to do a non-heroic to complete a
non-heroic daily quest. Works really well if you can match up a non-
heroic and a heroic daily for the same instance.
