It's the recolours which are not working with Seasons.
Seasons changed plants to having 4 states - Spring, Summer, Winter, Autumn.
Trees and other plants made before Seasons only have one state so in every
season except summer, with custom trees, you will get a blue tree because
the texture is missing. A blue colour usually means a missing texture.
If they're in the neighbourhood, I have two suggestions/observations.
1. Some neighbourhood trees are simply small models of trees you can buy on
a lot. The custom textures you have for the in lot trees may be affecting
them. The solution is to remove your custom textures. This happens
sometimes particularly if you DL a custom tree where the maker hasn't
changed the GUID and it supersedes Maxis content because it's in the
Downloads folder.
2. There was a bug with Seasons where some 'in lot' trees were getting
displaced visually (the maple trees) and appearing, in some seasons,
apparently, in the neighbourhood in neighbourhood view. This makes them
look like neighbourhood trees but they aren't. You can't grab them in the
neighbourhood view (which sounds like what you are describing). This was
fixed in the patch.
3. Try deleting groups.cache - it never hurts.
Best wishes
