I'm looking for one of those larger bat style joysticks for my Berzerk. I
remember playing a machine at aladdin's castle back in the day that had one
and I perfer the way it plays. The only one i've seen recently is on
zinfers restoration and can't recall ever seeing them on eBay Berzerks...but
I might have missed it. Anyone know the story behind these? Did they just
break a lot and get replaced or did the factory install only a few before
switching over to the smaller standard style joystick? Just curious. If
you have one you'd like to sell, shoot me an email. Have stuff I can trade
too.

From what I've heard they broke a lot and Stern started using the smaller
red ball joystick. For my taste I'd prefer the larger bat style also, but
once you start playing you have more to think about than what joystick
you're using!

Thanks Larry, I figured it had to be something like that. Your right
though...once you get started on the game it really keeps you busy. What a
blast!

Be sure to get on the waiting list for Spaeth's Multi-game ZZPU! It's a
very well made board, and very easy to install. A must have for any
Berzerk.

Hi,

They were optical sticks that had problems, and had to be replaced from
what I recall. I bought a few over the years to put back in the
Berzerks but I have yet to ever do it.

Besides being original is there any reason why you would want the
joysticks that are KNOWN for breaking down? Just wondering that's all.
