I know looks aren't everything in games, but just wondering here.

What are some of the prettiest games out now so far? I have a couple that
stands out, which are:

Gear of War
Bioshock

I heard COD4 is outstanding looking, unfortunately I haven't bought that one
yet.

So, what are some of your suggestions? It's okay even if the game totally
sucks. I just want to know aesthetic appeal at this time.

COD4 *is* outstanding looking, and with a silky smooth framerate too.

Just Cause, it does have a lot of iffy gameplay, though I enjoyed it
enough to finish it, but there are frequent "wow!" moments with the
graphics, especially with the sunsets/sunrises. Am very much looking
forward to Just Cause 2 which will hopefully have similar graphics and
better gameplay.

I rather like the look of Assassin's Creed- lots of environmental
detail. Call of Duty 4 is actually not as great looking as everyone
says it is- there are a lot of muddy textures. Still, the framerate,
character models and lighting are pretty good. Gears of War is pretty
good looking. Burnout Paradise is really good looking, especially
considering the speed of the game. Although both games are plagued
with framerate problems, and in the case of one, texture pop-in
issues, both Mass Effect and Oblivion have very appropriate graphics
for the worlds they try to create (sci-fi pulp mag stories and high
fantasy respectively).

Eternal Sonata, to me, is the most artistically beautiful game of the
past year. It's exquisite. Bioshock, too.

Uncharted is easily the best looking game of this generation thus far.
The visuals blow away most games available on the 360, Wii and PS3.

Halo 3 looks awesome. The jungle in the beginning blew me away.
The trees and water effects were amazing.

Really? I thought it had a strangely claustrophobic feeling to it, although
they were all in outdoor open area.

RSV1 looks pretty on my TV . But my TV cleans up the image a bit so I
don't know what your TV would do. But the nightime intro scenes flying
over Vegas in the heli are very pretty. And Fremont St and Red Lotus
levels are pretty. Overall I liked all of the neon lights and flashy
vibe in RSV1. The textures and the graphics themselves arent spectacular
,but the overall ambiance and art direction is very nice and I would say
very pretty.

You won't believe what a good TV will do for a games visuals. I've had
friends over watching me play vegas1 and they can't believe its the same
game they play at home.
I usually turn on mpeg artifact reduction which smooths the jaggies a
bit , I also turn on pixel plus which enhances the actual pixel by
tricking the eye so to speak, also I turn on dynamic contrast on min
which helps empasize the difference between contrasting colors, also I
turn on DNR digital noise reduction which monitors the signal from the
360 and removes and unwanted noise that will cause snowiness or the
like, I also use active control which continuously measures and corrects
all incoming signals to provide best picture possible. I also have a
custom color separation and I turn on color enhancement to maximum which
actually improves resolution in the details in bright areas and makes
the color more vivid.

LOST is gorgeous in the jungle parts ,just as good or better than
Uncharted but LOST gameplay is horrible at best , you'll get an overall
fullfilling experience with Uncharted, a much better game. LOST left me
wanting my 4 hours back, but the jungle is breathtaking .
