South of Auberdine I often find a beast apparently stuck inside a tree. My
minimap shows the red dot there, and if I stand right next to the tree the
mob will start attacking me. If I back away the mob will not follow.
Sometimes I can kill and loot them, other times I can target them but they
dodge all my arrows after the first two.
Just an interesting bug...
Another time I went through that portal that goes from Darnassus to the part
of Ashenvale where you can get a ride to Darkshore, you know that building
with a red glow, I forget what it's called. Anyway I always jump right
before I get to the portal, because it looks cool to see my char suspended
in mid-air for the few seconds it takes to load the next part. Once my char
came through the other side hanging in the air apparently about half a foot
off the ground, and his arms and legs were moving comically as he hung there
in midair. Not like he was walking, but like he was trying to tread water
or something. It was hilarious. Unfortunately as soon as I moved him he
fell back down to the ground and stopped the clownish movements. >> Stay informed about: Beasts stuck inside trees |

I meant the part of Teldrassil where you can get a ride to Darkshore, not
the part of Ashenvale. >> Stay informed about: Beasts stuck inside trees |

The beasts stuck in trees has been around as long as I can remember.
Other long time bugs include a furblog camp east of Astranaar where one
of the furblogs seems to be underground, but has no problem with his totem
firing on you.
Other occasions, you will see mobs that don't seem to be moving, shooting
them
produces the evade. Again... they seem to be able to attack you when you
get
too close.

They evade because they are unable to attack you. get up close and hit them,
then you can kill them, and eve loot their corpses if you click in the right
place. I used this a lot when getting those furs for making that cloak.

It actually goes to rutheran village, which is on the south shore of
teldrassil. (check your map)
Another way to get to this is to jump off the edge of teldrassil, but you'll
die without levitate. (ghost is another way to make the trip)

Think that I read somewhere that a warrior in defensive stance also
reduces damage by 10% - so he'll always survive a fall, although with
very little health, obviously. Not got a warrior to try this out,
though.....

Defensive Stance definitely helps with falling. But "always" survive a
fall?? THAT is a rumor I've got to test! I had assumed that falls
beyond a certain range just started doing 120% or 200% or whatever of
your health, so a 10% amelioration would be fruitless. >> Stay informed about: Beasts stuck inside trees |

Actually you will never take more than 100% of your health in fall
damage.
A few patches ago a priest could survive a drop from any height by
putting on a shield - they would always survive with at least the
amount adsorbed by the shield. But then Blizzard went and nerfed
shield to not absorb falling damage. Im still sad about that...
On the other hand, a druid who puts on Barkskin (I think it is - gives
20% damage reduction) will always survive a fall with minimum 20% of
their health left.
I didn't know about warriors in defensive stance, but it makes sense
that it works.
You do not want to take a drop that lands you on something half way,
though - the damage is 100% of max health, so if the first drop puts
you at 20% the second can easily kill you.
Other tricks include mages popping iceblock on the way down - that
freezes them in the air, and lets them resume the fall from there when
it wears off. So fall 100 yards, pop iceblock, fall another 20 yards =
take damage for a 20 yard drop, not a 120 yard one.
Shamans can do the same with sentry totem, and you might be able to
copy the trick with an engineering spyglass.

Apparently that trick also works with the snowman costume from the
christmas stuff... never tried it myself but a friend said it worked, and
with it you can control yourself when it ends. Not sure how good it is for
damage reduction, though; would probably take some skill to hit it at the
right time.

Use an aggressive pet, then call it back, by clicking the pet follow button,
it will draw the beast from its graphical anomaly. It is how I tamed the
named bear in Felwood, that loaded in a tree. I dont think using AoE work,
since it isn't in the area, persay, to take the area damage.
You'll have to use a disposable pet tho.
If your pet disappears, into tree and you can't tell if its attacking or
engaged, look at his portrait, it'll blink red, if he's found the anomaly.

Shouldn't work anymore. Since 1.9 the snowman has a casting time, so
you can't cast while falling...

heh. I just used the Ice Block to get to BRD the other day. I wasnt
100% if it worked, but it sure did. Made the jump a lot easier
Also, I like jumping straight into the lava outside the MC window.
Straight into MC. >> Stay informed about: Beasts stuck inside trees |

Lucky mages. I heard its also possible to jump into the lava and swim
out without taking more than one tick of fire damage. Haven't tried it
yet, though.

That WORKS? I thought the window was the portal and you have to jump
through it.
Got to try it. But this time I'll remember to get invited to the raid
before jumping. %-)

Sure does. Its awesome to avoid those pathetic "Hey! Horde are doing
MC, let's whack them all as they come in!" fights. The ones my guild
usually gets involved in and it delays MC by 40 minutes and I can't
make enough water for everyone (Due to bagspace limitations) Then its
