I have a chance to get hold of the B and C boards from a CPS1 game
that is currently in Europe (most likely a World version).

My question is: do the A boards of CPS1 games accept all the B/C
boards? I have two CPS1 boards over here (Varth and SFII Hyper
Fighting), I'd hate to find out that the board I imported from Europe
doesn't play nice with the boards I have here...

Thanks!

Paris

Thanks, I'll try swapping my Varth with SF Hyper Fighting and see if
that works...

The board that I am interested is Three Wanders, that is definitely a
loose PCB (not with a plastic case)...

Hmmm.... that's not really how CPS1 boards work. There are no A/B/C
boards for them as far as I know. I have Varth, Magic Sword, Punisher
and a couple others and none of their parts are interchangeable to my
knowledge. The later generation CPS1 boards came in sealed plastic
cases with the boards inside, the earlier ones like Varth as loose PCBs.
They all have a daughterboard mounted on them, but I don't think
those daughterboards can be interchanged...most CPS1 are standalone
boards as far as I know.

CPS2 boards are semi-interchangeable however. You can interchange
Japanese and US CPS2 A + B boards (green and blue) and you can
interchange Asia and Europe CPS2 A + B boards (orange and grey) but you
can't mix, say, Europe with US ones. That's JUST for CPS2 boards
though...Varth is definitely a CPS1 board Smile

The swap between the SFII and Varth B/C boards (that sit on the
mainboard) was successful, the B and C boards (the C being the little
one on top of the second board) appear to be interchangeable. I am
still not sure if the European mainboard is different to the US one
however...

This is what I am afraid, that'll mean a waste of time/money (where am
I going to find another European A board????)...
