Banned, deleted, renamed, moved?

So a temporary ban would leave the character visible in the guild list, but
un-playable to to the account owner?

He would still exist on the server for at least six months but wether or not
he's visible I've no clue. Closing the account type banning is different.
But we aren't allowed to know exact details of others misfortunes.

If a char is removed from all friendlists without your doing, then the
char was either deleted or moved away to another realm.

Blizzard bans accounts, not chars, they remain "ingame", they are just
no longer playable. The name remains taken.

If a player renames his char (due to a GM forcing that, sometimes you
can beg to give this ability) then the char is renamed in all friend
lists. Due to caching effects, some people might still see the old name
for some time until that is updated for them as well.

It's looking more and more like he has transferred out or deleted his char.

Their were some guildies that had suspicions that he was sharing an account.
Doubt that Blizz would actually delete/close an account because of that
though.

Thanks. This would explain why one guy could still see him on his friends
list, but no one else could see him at all.

It looks like he has deleted or transferred.
