Baldurs Gate (1 and 2) spoilers on gamebanshee...

....I'm just wondering what happened to them?

I remember them being a lot more comprehensive, a few years ago, than
they are now.

For instance, a complete walkthrough of the Bard stronghold quests
detailing which were the actual best options.

Or a considerably better exposition of the Jaheira/Harpers plotline
for those not in a romance, as well as for those who are.

Who revised them and made them worse?
