Hi gang!
Back from San Diego, California. Got in Saturday night, and have been
catching up since. Great trip and the cats couldn't have behaved any better.
Visited the Air and Space Museum and I was duly impressed. They have a
small collection of aircraft but they are gorgeous!!! Really liked looking
into the Apollo capsule on display.
One exhibit was the MS Flight Sim on a projection screen setup. Although
it wasn't posted what version of the sim was being used, I'm pretty sure it
was FS9. There was a very simplified cockpit setup, with a chair for the
pilot and one for the docent. CH Yoke and Throttles were being used. I
really wanted to play with the thing, but the line was too long, and the
docent was having too much fun screwing over his pilot. Everytime the pilot
was setting up his approach, the docent would change the outside view. Not
nice.
Anyway, glad to be back with my friends!!
Tom

Hi CL!
Got some major video footage and lots of pics in the wife's digital
camera. Haven't looked at either yet.

Well Quilly, according to my Oxford dictionary (concise version), a docent
exists in certain U.S. and European universities and colleges and is a
member of the teaching staff immediately below professorial rank. Smile

A docent is an unpaid volunteer that has received specific technical
training in an area he will be working in. A tour guide is typically called
a docent.

Welcome back and looking forward to your pics. We are going to the West
Coast this Summer. We are starting in San Fran and driving down the coast
in a Tour Bus and ending up in San Diego.

Hi Quilly,

I've never come across that word either.
