Hello
Can anyone help please?

How does one make a back-up copy of Doom3 Disk1? Is it possible to copy Disc
1 files to the hard drive to play the game from there instead of the CD
drive?

Basically, you don't.

Maybe, but wouldn't it be easier to update your game with the latest
patch, which solves that issue?

The linux installer installs a game that does not need the CDs anymore.

the 1.3 patch removes the need for the paly disc.
