Everyone always has all these stories about dumpster and free finds and it
was finally my turn! A buddy of mine at work comes up to me and says "Hey,
there is some arcade game at the corner of such and such downtown and it has
two steering wheels. You ought to go get it." So I ask "Did it say Daytona
on it" how about "Final Lap 3". He says "No, it has two steering wheels
but I think you stand in front of it." So now I am thinking what could this
be? Certainly not a Spy Hunter II (ugh, might not have grabbed it.) Anyone
ever play a Spy Hunter II? Talk about the sequel not living up to the
original. Anywho - I go drive by in the MR2 to make sure it is still there
since he told me he forgot to tell me at 7:00 am (so I had to make sure it
was still there) since that is what I drove to work (Tacoma was at home)
and - What's this? It's a Bad Lands. Looks like it is dedicated, no screen
burn. Control panel was loose and I see the mainboard and the power supply
in the bottom, has a switcher and everything looks neat and original
otherwise. So I load it up in the truck by myself (hate leaning them back
on the wheels by myself and getting them back off but I went unscathed with
the unloading too) and I hear all kinds of money rattling around. Not sure
how much since I haven't drilled the lock yet, maybe I will do that tonight
and buy a monitor with all the money! LOL. Anybody in or around Charlotte,
NC have a compatible monitor for this beast? Open to new or used, I can
come pick up. Let me know what you have. Thanks for listening!

It could be as simple as a blown fuse. Drill the locks and investigate
it further before assuming anything. >> Stay informed about: BRAG: My turn! Got a free abandoned vid yesterday! / Anybo.. |

Well it is so cold out that all I did was unload it and power it up. No
noise to the monitor at all and its dark. There is no burn in
(surprisingly) so I'm not sure if it is disconnected (unlikely I am
thinking) or maybe I need a flyback? I intend to open it tomorrow since I
worked late today so maybe I will have more to share then.

Agreed - flyback is jumping way too far ahead until you meter the fuse
box and check it out.
Could be almost nothing. I bought two "dead" Ms. Pac's at 100 each and
replaced two fuses - one per machine. Both were working 100% after that. >> Stay informed about: BRAG: My turn! Got a free abandoned vid yesterday! / Anybo.. |

"Well it is so cold out that all I did was unload it and power it up."
You powered it up while it was cold? You should of waited until it
warmed up, you may of done more harm to it than good.
