BF2142 - might enjoy this if you like Tribes!

Although there aren't jetpacks and the like, it has a similar feel to Tribes
1 and 2.

The Titan mode has big ships floating in the sky that you have to defend -
great stuff and might be worth a try for you lot....

My favorite aspect of the Battlefield series has been helicopters, I think
because it's the closest one gets to jet pack maneuvers. Check out the
Apache Wars server, which runs the Desert Combat Final mod for BF1942 with
the maps tweaked to spawn lots of helicopters so there's never a wait for
one. The sky is full of dueling Apaches.
