I've seen all the mentions of the game crashing to desktop at the end of a
round...but mine does it right away! It's REALLY irritating. I've tried
with and without the patches...and it made no difference. Any ideas?

I thought VOIP Was for voice only over the net anyway... or am I

It's audio (voice) over the net (Your IP). In BF2142 it's an option (In the
audio section) so you can use your headset and talk to your team. It's
unstable...and defaults to being enabled. So, if you're having a CTD...it
may very well be that Voice over IP is enabled in the Audio section.
